Photo editor/photographer/everything extraordinaire Tyler Tjomsland ventured forth with ROTC as they traveled to Oregon to compete in the annual Rainier Ranger Challenge. Braving the rain, no sleep and a ten-mile ruck march, this is what he brought back.

Above is the letter sent out by Washington State University Provost Steve Hoch to a number of people, including the chancellor of WSU Tri-Cities and the dean of WSU Vancouver, announcing his personal leave. The timestamp (3:13 a.m.), confirms earlier published reports that the e-mail was sent in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
