GLBT advocate to lecture today in Idaho

A staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union will be lecturing on the Lesbian and Gay Rights Project from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today in the College of Law courtroom at the University of Idaho. Sharon McGowan will deliver the lecture entitled, “Litigating GLBT Issues from the Trenches.” “I think it’ll be focused on GLBT issues in the law,” said Christopher Taylor, vice president of Sexual Orientation Diversity Alliance.

The event is open to anyone interested, Taylor said. “I plan to highlight some cases the ACLU is working on right now,” McGowan said. “My goal is to talk to people about what’s going on.” McGowan said she hoped the lecture would be informal and that she would add to a dialogue that she thinks everyone can contribute.

“I hope to kind of draw information from both Washington state and Idaho,” she said. From staff reports
