News briefs From sataff reports The Daily Evergreen Story Tags Woman causes collision with U-turn maneuver One woman was arrested in a two-vehicle collision on the Moscow-Pullman Highway on Wednesday. A 1997 Honda Accord was resting on the right shoulder of the highway heading westbound, Washington State Patrol Trooper Brandon Kendall said. The driver, who was intoxicated, poorly timed a U-turn into the left lane at about 8:15 p.m. The driver in a 2001 Saturn heading westbound slammed on her breaks, but the Honda Accord ran into her vehicle in the process of the U-turn. The right-side passenger in the Saturn was airlifted to the Pullman Regional Hospital. She was later taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. The driver of the 1997 Honda Accord was arrested and booked into the Whitman County Courthouse in Colfax. Pullman police search for stolen vehicle The Pullman Police are looking for a stolen vehicle from the Providence Court Apartments complex. The vehicle is a silver 1998 Toyota 4Runner with a Washington state license plate, Pullman Police Cmdr Chris Tennant said. The license plate number is 981YMS. It was last seen at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Man loses consciousness while on motorcycle A man lost consciousness on his motorcycle, resulting in a crash that sent him to the Pullman Regional Hospital on Wednesday. The man lost consciousness due to a medical condition at 8:49 a.m., causing the motorcycle to slide and hurl him to the ground, WSU Police Lt. Steve Hansen said. He was driving on Spokane Street near Campus Street at the time of the incident. He was treated for the medical condition. There were not any serious physical injuries from the crash, Hansen said. The motorcycle was scratched but still functions. |
