Zombies gather to party Bands from around Wash. will come together to play at the Zombie Mosh rock show. The Daily Evergreen Published: 10/15/2009 This weekend, Pullman will host its very own zombie apocalypse in the form of Zombie Mosh, a rock show. The show, which will feature bands from around Washington, will start at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Thai Ginger Restaurant & Bar. Aaron Flansburg, WSU graduate and lead singer of the Pullman-based metal band Random Noise, is helping coordinate the event. Audiences are encouraged to dress up as zombies. “I hope that it’s a good fun show,” Flansburg said. “Something we can do every year in the future.” Random Noise will play alongside other metal bands including Pullman-based groups Strychnine and Nefarious Rex, as well as Skinwalker from Omak, Deadones USA from Spokane, and the Seattle band Sledgeback. Activities at Zombie Mosh will include live music, a demo of a new Zombie Mosh board game and prizes for the best zombie costume. Though Zombie Mosh is not a fundraiser, the show will be a good chance to get people from the Palouse area with a common interest together, Flansburg said. He has helped coordinate the zombie show, “Dance of the Dead,” at the Moose Lodge in the past. For the past few years, zombie events activities such as Zombie Mosh and the Zombie Walk in Seattle have gained popularity, Flansburg said. He says it’s all about the entertainment value. “There’s something funny about the way they walk,” Flansburg said. “It’s fun to get dressed up and look weird. That’s the appeal of the event.” Look for Flansburg’s group Random Noise as well as the other bands on Saturday at Thai Ginger at 300 S. Grand Avenue in Pullman. There is no cover charge, and attendees must be 21 or older to get in. |
