WSU football center Kenny Alfred has been selected to compete in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 23, WSU athletics announced Tuesday. Alfred, a redshirt senior from Gig Harbor, has started in all of WSU's games the past two seasons and earned All Pac-10 Conference honorable mention, following both his sophomore and junior seasons.

Alfred has also been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention team three years in a row.
